New Library Manager

The Board of Directors of the Sheep River Library are pleased to announce that Jan Burney, a resident of Turner Valley, has been appointed to the position of Library Manager.
Jan by far meets the majority of the required qualifications from amongst the 14 applictions received.  With a Master’s degree in English Literature, Bachelor of Arts, Trained Teacher Certificate and Masters Level  courses in Film Studies, she meets the post-secondary education requirements. As a full time teacher and home school parent, she has demonstrated time management skills. Her community involvement shows experience in public service, forming and sustaining partnerships and strong organizational and communications skills. Her teamwork ethic and ability to engage staff and volunteers effectively made her an excellent candidate. Having served as a member of the Sheep River Library board of directors, Jan has a good understanding of  board priorities particularly as they pertain to volunteerism, forming partnerships, communications, linkages with community groups, fundraising and financial management. Attention to details and establishing  workable procedures and guidelines are a priority  with her.

 
Jan will commence employment in this new position starting Monday July 25. Please join us in welcoming Jan to this new position.
